The Suhanko wind park project is run by Suhangon Tuulivoima Oy.
The project area is located in the northwestern parts of the municipality of Ranua, in the proximity of the municipal borders of Simo and Tervola. The Suhanko Arctic Platinium mining site is located next to this project area.
A maximum of 35 wind turbines reaching max 300 meters in tip height have been planned for this area. In some parts of the project area, the obstacle limitation surface will limit the height of the wind turbines.
Multiple environmental assessments and wind measurements have been conducted in the area. Suhangon Tuulivoima is currently conducting further preliminary studies and mapping various project options.
